FAQs

Below you find our most frequently asked questions with clear, easy to understand answers. If you have a question that isn’t listed here — don’t be afraid to give us a call or shoot us an email. We’re always happy to answer questions!

What is a domain name?

A domain name is the name of your web address. For example, our domain name is
neonzebras.com. You need this before you can obtain hosting and build a website.

What is hosting?

Hosting is what is needed to display your website on the internet. It goes together with your domain name.

You have to have a domain name first, then hosting. Once you have those two items secured you can begin building your website. It’s always recommended that you keep your domain name and hosting together for easier maintenance and continuity.

How much does it cost?

Asking this question is like walking onto a car lot and asking how much a car costs. Would you like the Yugo or the Corvette? We have both and everything in between.

Our websites are affordable and custom quoted with your budget and needs in mind. We’ll work with you to determine what you’re looking for in a site and do our best to quote within your budget.

How long does it take?

There is no specific answer to this question. It can take as little as 1 day to as long as 6 months or more! It all depends on what you need your website to do. If you’re simply looking to represent your company online and build your business reputation, it could take as little as a couple of days. However, if you are wanting to create the next big shopping experience with thousands of items for sale, it will obviously take significantly longer.

Can I update/edit my website myself?

You can. But you don’t have to.

This is an area that we will discuss right away so that we will immediately have an idea how to build your site. Some of our websites are built using specific web design software and need to be maintained by a professional. Our most popular platform for websites, however, empowers YOU to make updates and edits. With only minimal instruction, many of our clients choose to update their sites themselves.
